Sunderland shoppers invited to have fun whilst fundraising at the Bridges this June

Shoppers in Sunderland can be in with the chance to win prizes and support two incredible causes at the same time, thanks to the Bridges.

Shopping centres across the UK have signed up for One Great Day, a charity initiative which raises funds throughout June for London's Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and other worthy, local organisations.

This year, the Bridges in Sunderland will be taking part, by running a tombola in the centre on Saturday 23rd June.

All money raised will be shared between Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and, closer to home, Sunderland Royal Neonatal Unit.

Scores of great prizes have been donated, with everything from hampers, to gift cards, to pampering packages up for grabs.

At the same time, a range of family-friendly entertainment is planned throughout the day, including balloon modelling and face painting.

Andy Bradley, centre director at the Bridges, is hopeful of the event's success.

He said: 'People in Sunderland are known for their generosity and we've seen that already with the number of amazing prizes that have been donated.

'We're hopeful that generous spirit will continue on the day and that shoppers will take part in the tombola and win some fantastic items, while supporting two very worthy causes at the same time.

'There are dozens of shopping centres around the UK supporting One Great Day in a variety of ways.

'It would be fantastic if we could be top of the leaderboard by managing to raise a substantial amount of money.'
