New charity store in aid of air ambulance calls for volunteers ahead of launch in Walsall

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is opening its brand new store in Walsall's Saddlers Centre on Friday 19th October at 12pm – and the charity is urgently on the lookout for local volunteers to help in store.

Volunteers at the store will be part of the close-knit community at the charity, where they can enjoy the fun atmosphere and a number of exclusive volunteer events throughout the year.

Over 200,000 items have been sold at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's shops so far, so volunteers will be busy playing an important role for the charity.

The public is being encouraged to come along and explore the new charity shop at the opening, whilst getting the chance to meet members of the aircrew and find out about the lifesaving work undertaken on a daily basis.

Visitors to the store opening can also get involved in the charity's competition. The first visitor to the shop to say 'mission possible' to a volunteer or manager will win two tickets to a Walsall FC match worth £40, presented to the winner by Walsall FC's very own mascot.

Alison Hill, volunteer manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: 'Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is so pleased to be able to open its fourth charity shop in Walsall. We hope people can come along and take a look at the new store, whilst also getting involved in the competition.

'We also really hope people will get in touch with us about becoming a volunteer at the charity shop.

'So far, sales in Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's shops have funded over 270 lifesaving missions, which each cost on average £2,500, so being a volunteer in our stores is hugely appreciated by the charity and massively rewarding for all volunteers.'

This is the fourth Midlands Air Ambulance charity shop, with the other three in Wellington, Newcastle-under-Lyme, and West Bromwich.
